On 24 th March 2020, the entire nation came to a standstill right after the Prime Minister of India declared a nationwide lockdown in order to prevent the contagion of COVID-19. It was fine for a few days to relax and stay at home, enjoying something like pre-summer holidays. The days passed by at its own pace, there being nothing much for one to do other than the household chores and nowhere to move around other than one’s own dwelling. The lockdown regime was a bit boring at first. However, subsequently people have started finding out ways to utilise and while away their precious time. The lockdown has brought in the feeling of nostalgia for everyone. People at present are with their families, spending time together just the way they did in their olden days. The month of Ramadan or Ramzaan is a time when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, meet families and their communities, give to charity, remember the year gone by and resolve to be better as an individual. This year (2020) Ramadan started on the evening of 23 rd April,2020 and will last till 30 days, i.e. on Saturday, May 23.
