Facts about the Holy month of Ramadan
The month of Ramadan or Ramzaan is a time when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, meet families and their communities, give to charity, remember the year gone by and resolve to be better as an individual. This year (2020) Ramadan started on the evening of 23 rd April,2020 and will last till 30 days, i.e. on Saturday, May 23. Muslims consider this month as the holiest month and perform prayers and do services in Mosques. However, this year being the lockdown, the prayers and services are being performed online. History of Ramadan It was established as a Holy Month for Muslims after the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in 610 CE on the occasion known as Laylat al-Qadr, frequently translated as “the Night of Power."
